Out of Bounds: beyond the water bordering the course or marked with white stakes (Rule 27-1).
Areas marked with blue stakes and/or white/blue lines are deemed Ground Under Repair (GUR). In case of obstruction (Rule 25-1a) because of Ground Under Repair, relief must be taken (Rule 25-1b).
All stakes, including staked trees, are immovable obstructions (Rule 24-2).
The use of distance measuring devices is allowed, provided they don’t measure gradients and/or wind speeds/directions.
The Rules & Handicap Committee, in consultation with NGF, has decided that the shell paths must be deemed an immovable obstruction. This means that during club games and competitions, the paths are an immovable obstruction, but the operator may leave the local rule (integral part of the course) on the scorecard! However, if you take relief, make sure you follow the rules to the letter. If you are completing a Q card, the paths are an integral part of the course again.
